The Network Grows – New Groups in Florida, New York, Oregon

More individuals are recognizing the violence inherent in the police state, and are doing something about it.

The groups below – from Florida, New York, and Oregon – are the most-recent additions to the page CopBlock.org/Groups.

If you’re not already involved with those nearby, take a moment to check out the page, which lists known Cop Block, Cop Watch, and Peaceful Streets groups, and connect with those nearby.

Dedicated to ending the double standards granted to those with badges. We are committed to documenting police actions whether they are illegal, immoral, unjust, and holding the individuals responsible for their actions. Lets work together towards transparency and have a real impact police accountability.

Forgotten Coast Florida

Facebook

Our focus is bringing transparency to the rural counties in Florida’s Forgotten Coast, stretching from Eastern Bay County to Wakulla County and including all surrounding counties to the North. We hope to energize police accountability and awareness of rights in our area to discourage bad policing policies as well as offer a location where locals can discuss issues unique to our rural area as well as release video footage to make locals aware of situations occurring in our neck of the woods, emphasizing the Police State has not only become out of control in urban areas, but also our area too.

For now we will not be taking donations or engaging in any financial activity to start, and Youtube, Twitter, etc will be soon to come as well as custom graphic design for our group. Thanks.

OREGON

Eugene Copwatch

Facebook / [email protected]

This group is focused on gathering good people who are interested in the concept of Copwatching/ exposed to the concept and educating them on their rights when filming the police. Initial interest in the group and a membership base will provide morale support the development of further online resources for Eugene. The creator of this group is not aware of more than one person engaged in the practice of filming the police in Eugene. The creator of the group wants more people to know what this practice is in Eugene, what it means to the people doing it and why it is important, and how to do it as safely as possible.

The group provides history on police brutality in Eugene, news stories that are relevant to the movement and possible fallout of consequences of filming the police as well. We want to look at what we want to be prepared for, and how we want to “do better” through correct education on the law in Oregon, and the reality of filming police in general. We’re concerned that the Eugene Police Department is completely corrupted and we think it’s important to film the police in Eugene, the second largest city in Oregon.

I have had my civil liberties violated many times over the past few years and I am tired of it. I can either sit back take and complain, or I can do something about it. I chose to stand up!
