Nearly two years ago I came up with and launched CopBlock Protection: an innovative way to protect people after a police interaction by providing members with a CopBlock Protection Specialist who will work with them directly to highlight their encounter with law enforcement.
At the time of the first launch, I had recently got out of jail for wiretapping and chalking public officials, and shortly after the launch I decided it would be better to work on myself before taking on such a daunting task. So I suspended the idea. Coming back to the idea certainly took longer than I had planned, as I attempted to start a business and live a more simple life, but I feel like the time has come–not only for myself to get back into activism–but to relaunch CopBlock Protection.
The universe has undoubtedly worked in a mysterious way here. I believe now is a much better time and I’ve even expanded on the idea. That’s why I decided to bring on board super-activist (and an all-around good person) Derrick J Freeman (host of CopBlock Radio, Free Talk Live, and star of ‘Derrick J’s Victimless Crime Spree.’). But Derrick isn’t the only one. As CopBlock Protection grows, I will bring on some of the names the regular readers of this site may know. For example, Kelly Patterson (of Nevada CopBlock), Kory Watkins (of North Texas CopBlock), Uncle Deo (of Greater Cleveland CopBlock) and a growing list of others.
Together we’ll work to assemble a team of dedicated, skilled, and focused CopBlock Protection Specialists who will provided useful social media/networking services to CopBlock Protection Members while generating original content and furthering the message that “Badges Don’t Grant Extra Rights.” This means that Members will always get the most out of their membership–either by having peace of mind in knowing they’re not alone if they have a police interaction, or that they’re helping us create content that educates people and (hopefully) prevents police abuse.
