Denver Cop Block LogoDenver Cop Block LogoDenver Cop Block LogoLast nights protest was met with very little backlash between protesters and Denver Police until the protest was over. No one saw any police officers in riot gear while everyone was marching in the streets. At around 10pm (give or take a few minutes) last night, people that were apart of the protest were dispersing and walking to their cars (myself included) to go home.

Everyone was on the sidewalks walking to their cars and all of a sudden two groups totaling between 30-50 riot police showed up and were occupying 14th and Broadway and 13th and Broadway. The police immediately started moving people back (from where I don’t know because we were already on the sidewalk) and acted very aggressively towards an elderly woman.

A few minutes later, two arrests were made and to my knowledge the police did not tell the two individuals that were being arrested why they were being arrested. One of the people that was arrested was a photojournalist from what I was told and the other person that was arrested was a medic. The ironic thing about this is that we were just talking about how the Denver Police Dept. picks protesters off while they are walking home or walking to their cars to go home when they are low in numbers and don’t have very many people or any at all to help them.

Tonight was also a perfect example of why I personally decided to get involved with Cop Block. I also found out after I got home that police arrested 2 more protesters last night making it a total of 4 arrests. Feel free to use these videos as you please.
